Deadlines for the following graduate scholarships are as follows:

NSERC: Wednesday October 3rd, 2007

OGS: Wednesday October 17th, 2007

SSHRC: Friday November 30th, 2007

CIHR: Friday November 30th, 2007

George Mandler Research Fund

Year: Any
Value: Approximately $500
Description: Awarded on the basis of academic merit to undergraduate students undertaking research initiatives in the Department of Psychology. Financial need may also be considered.
Application Procedures: Send the Undergraduate Director a letter outlining the project that the Fund would support and to have the supervising faculty member send a letter of support as well. Name and student number, PSY subject POSt, and year level should be included in the letter. Please also include a ROSI printout of courses and marks. Applications are due July 16th, 2007.

Linda Mamelak Undergraduate Award

The application form for this award can be obtained from the Psychology Dept. Manager, Frieda Chan. Please go to the main office (SS 4020) and ask for Frieda. Applications are due June 1st, 2007.

Horace O. Frosty Steer Award in Psychology

This award will go to a graduating student in the Specialist or Major program in Psychology or the Specialist program in Psychology Research who enrols in an approved graduate program in Psychology, concentrating in the area of problems of children. If you have enrolled in and started a graduate program in this particular area, please contact the Undergraduate Director and provide proof of your enrolment and of the concentration of your studies. Value is approximately $3400 CDN.

FEBRUARY 2007

University of Toronto Undergraduate Excellence Awards in the Natural Sciences and Engineering (UTEA-NSE)

Applications for the UTEA-NSE Awards are due at the Undergraduate Psychology Department office (Sidney Smith room 4014) by Friday, February 9, 2007. For details about this award, please visit the Research Services website. Details on the application process are available here, where you will also find the necessary application form to download.

Before you apply, you will need to find a Faculty supervisor within the Department of Psychology. Only Faculty members who hold funding with NSERC are eligible to serve as your supervisor. A list of NSERC Grantees can be found here. Please contact any of the NSERC Grantees listed as soon as possible as most only can take one or two students at most. Once you have obtained a supervisor you can complete your application.

Students also applying to the NSERC USRA Award need not submit an application for the UTEA-NSE Award. Your application will be submitted by the Department, with your permission, if you are not selected to receive an USRA Award.

University of Toronto Excellence Award in the Social Sciences and Humanities (UTEA-SSH)

Applications for the University of Toronto Excellence Award in the Social Science and Humanities are due February 15, 2007. For more details and application procedures, please go to UofT's Research Services website. Applications must be submitted to Undergraduate Psychology Department office (Sidney Smith room 4014) for signature by Wednesday, February 14, 2007. The Department will then forward all applications to the adjudication committee. You must be sure to secure a SSHRC-funded supervisor from the Dept. of Psychology before applying. JANUARY 2007

2007-2008 NSERC Undergraduate Student Research (USRA) Awards

Applications for the NSERC Undergraduate Summer Research Awards (USRA) are due at the Undergraduate Psychology Office (Sid Smith room 4014) on Wednesday, January 31, 2007.

For complete information on the 2007-2008 NSERC USRA program and application procedures (including an application form) please go to the the Research Services website at http://www.research.utoronto.ca/funding/ff_nserc_usra.html.

Before you apply, you will need to find a Faculty supervisor within the Department of Psychology. Only Faculty members who hold funding with NSERC are eligible to serve as your supervisor. The application consists of FORM 202 (2 pages - Part 1 and Part 2) and an official transcript. The transcript can be hand delivered with the application form, however it must be in a sealed envelope. The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario Master's Scholarships

The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario is offering a limited number of Master's Studentship within the province of Ontario. Current 4th year undergraduate students and master students are eligible to apply for this award, which has a value of $18,000. The Dept. of Psychology deadline is February 16, 2007. Please submit your application to the Psychology Department Graduate Office.
